We are pleased to welcome Juan Felipe Acosta-Sánchez, an attorney with nearly 20 years of expertise in Intellectual Property litigation and strategy, Business Law, and Entertainment Law, as the new Managing Director of ClarkeModet Colombia. In this role, Juan Felipe will strengthen our business in the country by reinforcing our legal and consultancy services.
Juan Felipe brings extensive experience in Civil, Procedural, Administrative, and Economic Law. He is a respected academic and IP professional, recognized for his contributions to numerous articles, coordination of books, and leadership in advancing Intellectual Property, Business Law, and Entertainment Law in Colombia and across the region. Throughout his career, he has held key roles at leading firms in Colombia, specializing in conflict resolution within the entertainment industry, strategic management of trademark portfolios, copyright law, patent litigation, and arbitration and mediation.
Juan Felipe’s leadership will enable us to strengthen ClarkeModet’s legal services for clients in Colombia, while also supporting our global commitment to strategic consultancy services across the entire innovation lifecycle. As he states, “We will drive the growth of Colombia’s creative and innovative industries, as well as support our international clients with interests in Colombia. This will be achieved by helping them manage their intangible assets effectively, ensuring not only their protection and legal defense but also their potential to be monetized and become an essential part of business strategies.
Juan Felipe holds a law degree from Universidad del Rosario, with specializations in Intellectual Property, Economic Law, and Business Law. He earned a Master of Laws from Austral University in Argentina in collaboration with WIPO, along with certifications in arbitration and consumer law. He is also a highly experienced lecturer at several leading Colombian institutions, including Universidad del Rosario, Universidad Sergio Arboleda, CESA, and Universidad de la Sabana.
In addition, he is a distinguished member of key national and international IP associations, including ASIPI, ACPI, and INTA. His work is consistently recognized by top international legal rankings, including Chambers & Partners, Leaders League, Legal 500 and World Trademark Review.
