The accession of Mexico (June 6, 2020) and Brazil (August 1, 2023) to the Hague Agreement has marked a turning point in leveraging international design, making it possible to extend the benefits of this framework to over 50% of Latin America’s population and GDP.
Despite significant growth in design application filings in the region since then, international design remains a little-known and underutilized tool, even as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025.
