A Global Group
Clarke y Cía and la Agencia General de Patentes y Marcas were established in Madrid in 1879. In 1892 they merged to create Clarke, Modet & Cº. The first subsidiary Clarke, Modet & Cº Argentina opened in 1962 in Buenos Aires, and was soon followed by the openings of Clarke, Modet & Cº Brazil and Clarke, Modet & Cº Portugal in 1965. Clarke, Modet &Cº México and Clarke, Modet& Cº Venezuela soon after in 1968. In the 90s, Clarke, Modet & Cº Colombia, Clarke, Modet & Cº Chile and the branches of Sao Paulo in Brazil were set up. The geographical expansion was completed in year 2000 with the openings of Clarke, Modet & Cº Peru and the branches of Monterrey in Mexico, Córdoba in Argentina, Oporto in Portugal and Medellín in Colombia. In year 2008 Escobar Uribe Asociados was acquired by Clarke, Modet & Cº Colombia, and became one of the leading intellectual property companies in the county. Clarke, Modet & Cº Uruguay joined the line up in 2011, as part of the strategic plan to be leverage our expertise in the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries.
